This was a first full Backup.

The total size of the folder being backed up was 417.2GB with 133GB of that set to be ignored.

The Target has 500GB free space, but the backup size was only 280GB so it shouldn't have been an issue.

OK. So after a reinstall of the beta, it appears that the black screen problem has gone. Only been a couple of hours though, so will post back if any issues.

My install is not in a VM, it's a hard disk install. There's no pattern to it, purely random. I'm downloading the Beta now to see if the problem persists.

Is anyone else getting a random black screen that lasts about 2 seconds and then returns to normal? This is happening in both Xorg & Wayland sessions.

Thanks Ajgreeny. I'm pleased about that. Wayland may well have improved in 24.04 so I may go with it on my Intel based system, but for now Wayland just feels a bit clunky compared to X11.

Does anyone know if X11 is going to be included as an alternative in 24.04?
The reason I ask is that I still find X11 a far smoother and snappier experience than Wayland.

Where did you install Zoom from? I had problems with the snap version, but the official Zoom client works fine.

The problem was Powersave in /etc/networkmanager/conf.d. Changing the value from 3 to 2 then rebooting solved the problem.
